Etiquette- is a code that influences expectations for social behavior according to contemporary conventional norms within a society, social class, or group. Rules of etiquette are usually unwritten, but aspects of etiquette have been codified from time to time. A rule of etiquette may reflect an underlying ethical code.
Thats right people, I don't have to give up my seat for a pregnant lady, but I do. I don't have to open the door for a lady but I do. When you come into southie, think of the pregnant lady or older grandmother who's spot you are complaining about. We have been doing this for years and have survived, and will be doing it when you leave.....
The old grandmother can get a handicapped plate... Those spots are usually open. And the pregnant lady shouldn't be out shoveling a parking space in the first place. How about the jacka$$ who parks his SUV on the street through the snow, pops it into 4WD in the morning and just drives out of the spot without shoveling, but still marks it with a recycling bin? Am I supposed to keep that guy in mind 3 weeks after the storm and I can't find a spot on my own street? Or here's a doozie! I'm leaving for work in the morning and the first few flakes are starting to fall. My neighbors have ALREADY marked their spots so that they have somewhere to park when they get home from work! MALARKY! The situation has clearly gotten out of control. Lifers have definitely become more aggressive with the recent increase in parking space competition. Etiquette is out the window.
