This is what you can expect when you take someone elses spot. This note was left on a car that moved a spot marker, 10 DAYS after it last snowed.

  1. 10 days after a snowfall. Get over it note writer. Your cone is crap if it's still there more than a week after the storm.

If the idiots in the city would find a place to put their cars for just one day, the public works people could clear all the streets and you wouldn't have to resort to this insanity.

  2. I agree. There is no real plan for snow removal in the township. 30,000 plus residents in a 2 square mile radius, with L Street as the Emergency Evacuation Route? L Street is about as narrow as a candle pin lane, with or without parked cars.

  3. That you so much for this site. I've been boiling over about this for the entire month of January. And Mayor Mumbles' office does nothing about it. The whole situation is completely absurd. Check out Telegraph St. for a good laugh.

  6. Did anyone else experience the get home from work at 5 last night and find un-shoveled spots "pre-saved" by roommate, wife, husband, etc.? I was so flipping mad! And of course you can't take the spot because some idiot will slash your tires or throw a brick through your window. I understand the neighborhood rules and am fine with using a cone for a day or two after you've spent 90 minutes clearing a spot. But this year it is ridiculous!

  8. Are you serious? Unfortunately just because you shovel out a spot does not mean you own the street. The city should first solve the parking problems and then remove all the crap people leave in the street to hold spaces.

  9. Put the cone back when you leave. That's what she said !

  10. Last year I had my tire slashed, winshield wipers ripped off, and my driver side mirror SMASHED over Christmas because I parked in an unmarked but apparently "reserved" spot. I know the house that did it too. Still waiting to get the revenge.

  11. The worst is when there is a snow emergency and cars can't be parked on the major roads. Usually when the plows go by they plow the snow to the curb. When the emergency is lifted people run out their front door and mark a spot. They then run down the street to move the car to it's new spot. Now they save it without even shoveling.

  12. When you get home from work and all the spots are pre-saved etc., where do you end up going then?!

  14. Please, let's be civil and neighborly...that is what made this neighborhood unique...take care of each other people!

You never know when you need your neighbors.

  15. maybe you should get rid of the conn. and NY Plates. Show a little respect. Have apop-warner or yoyh hockey sticker on your car. Stop trashing the people whohave lived here for years. Things worked fine before you were here. Mommy and Daddy send you to school so you think that you are a brain surgeon. What you lack is street sense. What happens when you don't have street sense ? Usually street justice. If you don't like it move.

  16. I find that the worst people, and probably the ones that have commented on this site most often, are not people that have lived in this community all of their lives. There is certainly no need for vandalism of private property, but a note, come on! It is just a note. And no matter what it said, you probably deserved it. The people on my street who are the worst offenders, are often people who recently moved in, are not originally from the area, and most times do not even have resident stickers! They just pull out of a spot and fail to shovel. If I shovel and cannot save my spot, these are the people who will pull into my nicely cleared space, while I am forced to try and pull into their unshoveled mess. That is unfair! If you shovel you save! That is the way it works. Not for a month but for a few days until snow is cleared.

  17. Just a note to all those who are having issues with the movement of cones... the police and construction crews and others have been moving cones on the street. TWICE I have parked in spots that were not saved by cones... someone else has moved the cone or spot saver... and I have had threatening messages left on my windshield and had someone spit all over my windshield. Each of these times, I parked in a spot that was not marked but apparently had been before. I should not be afraid to come back to my car after respecting the Parking "rules" to slashed tires.

  18. I have nothing against you saving your spot after an actual snow emergency and you shoveled for hours.
It's the dickheads that mark spots after NOT shoveling the DUSTING of snow we got 3 DAYS AGO!! F YOUR CONE!!

  19. My favorite is when the City plows L street right to the sidewalk and some one parks there, and leaves, then putting a cone in that spot!!! They didnt lift a finger but somehow believe that is now their spot

  20. Why are you still waiting to get revenge if you know who damaged your vehicle? Confront them, press charges, something. The people who abuse this practice are bullies. Don't enable them.

  21. To bad none of you treat your neighbors with respect. All of the people who have moved in around my two houses have been rude assholes. No wonder why you get your shit smashed, and the guy waiting to get revenge you won't do anything most likely. I feel like everyone that moved around me wants to be a character in Good Will Hunting.

  22. I see you live on the corner of O and 5th. Are you stupid insulting somebody and then posting a picture of where you live. I can tell it is the first floor of the house and its not the one right on the corner. Its the one with the real low windows and the screen door on fifth street.Oh yeah its white too.

  23. Dear Spot Saver,
I live in the house that sounds just like the one you are describing & I have better things to do than insult my neighbors, I am as fed up as the rest of us with the parking. Most of the time I have to park down the beach, because alot of people donot know how to park and take up 2 spots. My name is Kevin when you see me on the street please introduce yourself. I am not the author of this blog & was alerted to this blog by a friend.

  24. The premise behind this site was merely to allow people to attempt to come together as a community, and to put to rest threats and vandalism. Certainly we can all agree that the winter snowstorms can be tough when it comes to parking in this rather small yet compact neighborhood. So please, be kind to your neighbors. Kindness and hospitality is what this neighborhood is all about, which is why people want to live here. Let's all keep the tradition alive. Increase the peace.

I would be cautious about posting threats to people on the web. Get over it already, the warm weather is nearing.
